Here follows and an [abridged] timeline of the Dominion, covering the pre-ascendance and post-ascendance eras, from 2001 until 2066 CE
2001 – Viral Revolution and foundation of the Dominion as direct result of birth of AI. ‘The Anglo-American Nuclear Incident’ occurs (Referred to as ‘The Scarring’)
2002
– Dominion (forces) recognition by the UN as governmental power. Restructuring
of ‘Dominion Central’ and surrounding area begins.
2003
– European military forces embodied under the UN and NATO assimilated into the
ViRA (Those bodies effectively cease to exist).
2004
– Declaration of the Rights of the Citizenry (7th March becomes
public holiday). Date traditionally seen as marking the Dominion’s
stabilisation.
2006
– Completion of the ‘Cybrid Project’: Beginning of ‘Reals Exodus’.
2007
– Empire first discussed at the European Game-Developer’s Forum.
2008
– End of ‘Reals Exodus’. Marcus and Nichol de Fleurie born.
2009
– Founding of the Dominion Aero-Corp. Beginning of US/Dominion Cold War.
Completion of restructuring of Dominion Central (Millennium Dome becomes ViRA
strategic command aka ‘The Map Room’).
2010
– Dominion recognises Federation of Southern American Reformist States (FSARS).
Australia holds first referendum on joining the Dominion.
2011
– Marcus and Nichol de Fleurie (aged 3) are sent to Dominion state orphanage.
2016
– Australia joins the Dominion. Beginning of Australasian War (US invades
Australia and is rebuffed by Dominion). First deployment of modern AI combat
drones. Death of Isobel de Fleurie.
2017
– End of Australasian War (Defeat of US Fleet in South Fiji Basin).
2018
– Aero-Corp in complete control of Dominion air transport.
2019
– GCC Geneva Corporate Convention ratified (legalising & regulating
corporate violence).
2024
– Marcus and Nichol de Fleurie (aged 16) begin training as Journeymen.
2028
– Marcus and Nichol de Fleurie (aged 20) attain Journeymen status.
2031
– Empire player of the year award goes to James Culdare.
2032
– Empire player of the year award goes to James Culdare for second consecutive
year.
2033
– Empire player of the year award goes to James Culdare for third consecutive
year.
2034
– First ever instance of ‘Decree Mea Culpa’ against Iconoclast
Technologies. Journeymen Marcus and Nichol de Fleurie (Aged 26) gain entry to
US.
2035
– Marcus de Fleurie marries Miranda Castillane.
2036
– James de Fleurie born to Marcus and Miranda de Fleurie (June 16th).
2039
– Ailing health forces a reduction in Bekon Vosk’s public appearances.
2040
– Death of Bekon Vosk 2nd August 1242 GMT (Announced 1300 GMT Same
Day). Ascendance of the Dominion. The American revolution of Ascendance begins.
2041
– The formation of the ‘Tribunes’ (The new governmental structure of the
Dominion).
2042
- The formation of the Hosts (The new military structure of the ViRA and the
Clone Legions) and the formal recognition of ‘the Pantheon of the Wards’.
2043
– The American revolution of Ascendance ends: America stabilised under the
Dominion. Marcus and Nichol de Fleurie recognised as the joint Heads of the
Journeymen for Dominion-America.
2044
– First emergence of the Neo-Luddite Movement, created in part by remnants
of Iconoclast Technologies (It is widely believed that the decade anniversary of
it’s demise is significant).
2047
– James de Fleurie (aged 10) sent to boarding school in England.
2057
– James de Fleurie (aged 20) joins the Journeymen (Assigned to corporate
violence).
2063
– James de Fleurie (aged 26) assigned to small sub-department of corporate
violence specialising in cases involving government institutions.
2066 – James de Fleurie (aged 29). Marcus and Nichol de Fleurie (aged 58).
